The brewery is tapping kegs on five new styles of beers this month.
UpCountry Brewing continues its exciting and frequent beer releases with five new brews for the month of September. Check out the brews, their descriptions, and when the brewery is tapping the keg on each below:
Chai Amber – 5.9% ABV, 28 IBU
Brewed with caramel malts, but not overwhelmingly malty, our Amber Ale has the right balance of color, sweetness, and low bitterness- ‘true to style’ of your typical amber ale. The reserved hop usage of Cascade and Fuggle bring just enough bitterness to balance the sweetness. We used a Chai blend to bring additional flavors of black tea, cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, and peppercorn, which wonderfully compliments the base brew. Available 10/3
“Nick’s Picks, Mae’s ESB – 6.0% ABV, 35 IBU
The first in our series collaboration with Nick’s Tavern & Deli in Clemson, SC! This brew is pretty straightforward, featuring the revered Fuggle and herbaceous Mt. Hood hops with toasted sugar and caramel notes. Available 10/12
“Doughnut for a Snowman” Donut Stout – 10% ABV, 28 IBU
Who doesn’t love donuts? We used six dozen Publix glazed donuts in the boil to make this pastry stout extra sweet. This is definitely a beer for dessert. The use of sugar and lactose, paired with the roastiness of chocolate malt and roasted barley round this beer out into a rich and decadent brew. Available 10/19
“Strange Brew” Cream Ale – 5.9% ABV, 13 IBU
Enjoy the sweet profile of this easy drinking cream ale. The addition of flaked corn gives a slightly creamy and smooth mouthfeel, while the low amount of hops allow the malt to take the spotlight in this brew. Available 10/18
“Pineapple Grenade” Pineapple Jalapeño Wheat Beer – 4.4% ABV, 22 IBU
Our Pineapple Jalapeño Wheat Ale brings strong wheat flavors due to the grain bill consisting of more than 50% wheat. The addition of over six pounds per barrel of pineapple puree gives a touch of sweet fruit presence, while the jalapeño brings a spicy kick. This combination, plus the use of Mandarina Bavaria hops, creates a wonderfully refreshing and light drinking brew. Available 10/25
“Now that it’s actually cooling down outside, we are pumped to sit outside with a cold, dark brew in hand,” says Head Brewer Bryan Bobo. “The Chai Amber tastes like fall in a glass. And for the Donut Stout, we’re planning to throw a huge Phish themed party for that, so stay tuned!” UpCountry Brewing is located at 1042 Haywood Road in Asheville, N.C., and at 212 King Street Suite B., in Brevard, N.C.
