The Hit Men Performing at City Winery October 28 – Interviews Available

Nashville, Tenn. (October 14, 2019) – Rock & Roll supergroup The Hit Men will be performing at City Winery on Monday, October 28 at 7:00pm. The Musicians Hall of Fame honorees are five brilliant musicians who, throughout the 1960s, 70s, 80s and 90s toured and recorded with some of the biggest names in the music business – Elton John, Paul McCartney, Rod Stewart, Journey, Cheap Trick, Foreigner, Frankie Valli, Carly Simon and so many more.

The Hit Men are not a tribute act. They are the actual artists who helped rocket so many songs to the top of the Billboard charts. They are: keyboardist and group founder Lee Shapiro, lead guitarist/vocalist Jimmy Ryan, bassist/vocalist Jeff Ganz, keyboardist, percussionist & vocalist Russ Velazquez and drummer and vocalist, Steve Murphy.

Crowd favorites include: “Layla” (Derek and the Dominos), “Don’t Stop Believin’” (Journey), “Africa” (Toto), “I Want to Know What Love Is” (Foreigner), “Pinball Wizard” (The Who) and “Oh What A Night” (Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons).

Since coming together in November 2010, this incomparable quintet has made their legacy of number one hits come to life like no other group. The Hit Men are extraordinary players and singers as well as world-class entertainers — but, most importantly, they were there when some of music’s most iconic songs were recorded…and they have the backstage stories to prove it.

“The Hit Men were simply amazing. Several of our patrons mentioned that this was one of the best shows that we have had in sometime. They told me they loved the music and that they knew every song. As a presenter, I love to see the audience enjoying a show.  People were clapping and several were dancing wherever they could find room to dance. The second half of our show, Steve Murphy (the drummer) received two standing ovations, one for singing “I Wanna Know What Love Is,” and his drum solo. Actually, the whole show was astounding and every one of those guys simply ‘oozed’ talent.” – Beth Sharp, Entertainment Director, The Missouri Theater
