Nashville Lager wins second Gold Medal at the 2019 Can Can Awards

It was announced on July 1st that The Nashville Brewing Company’s “Original Lager” won Gold for the second year in a row at the Can Can Awards in the Munich Helles category.

The Can Can Awards is the premier beer competition focused solely on canned craft beers. This year, judging took place on June 22nd and 23rd in Atlanta GA. Over 628 beers were entered from 168 breweries, including entries from both big breweries and small breweries alike.

The Can Can Awards invites beer industry professionals to blindly sample canned beers submitted from around the world in 42 different categories. Judged according to BJCP guidelines, a panel of certified judges evaluated each beer submitted in order to award Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals for each individual category.

The Nashville Brewing Company brews traditional European style lagers, with imported barley malt and hops. Originally operating from 1859-1890, the Nashville Brewing Company was resurrected in 2016 and is brewed in collaboration with Blackstone Brewing Company, Nashville’s oldest craft brewery.
