WHAT:
Kitchen in the Garden at the New Orleans Botanical Gardens is open with a full calendar of events for November, including a chef’s dinner, cooking demonstrations and a holiday workshop.

Chef Susan Spicer will be cooking a three-course seasonal inspired menu with wine pairings at the Kitchen in the Garden chef series presented by René Fransen & Eddie Bonin.

Dan Stein of Stein’s Deli and Chef Mike Friedman and Chef Greg Augarten from Pizza Delicious will host a beer tasting and pizza making class. Chef Friedman and Augarten will lead a hands-on demonstration where attendees will learn to create the famous Pizza Delicious dough and sauce, complete with a dough tossing lesson.

Stephen Sonnier of Dunn & Sonnier Antiques, Florals & Gifts will teach the basics of wreath making and the elements of design. Attendees will then create a breathtaking, holiday wreath with bold, dramatic blooms and foliage to take home.

Dr. Joe Willis of the LSU Ag Center will educate participants about local peppers. Chef Melvin Stovall, known for his vegan Chinese pop-up, Midnight Noodle, will demonstrate what to do with these spicy native plants. He will have spicy dishes to taste and a take-away to help recreate at home.
